Each student receives three private lessons per week and a schedule of instruction and rehearsal with the coaching and piano faculty on the alternate days. Yoga begins each day. Three formal concerts, informal soirées to try new repertoire, a casual outdoor concert of popular music, and time for restful social interaction fill the evenings. Conversations on the Arts provide a chance to learn about the world premiere piece by Blaise Ferrandino, and exchange ideas with local artists and arts lovers. Outings into the Wallowa Mountains, to the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center and nearby Baker City, and through Hell’s Canyon, the deepest in North America, provide refreshment and inspiration. Home style meals and housing at the Pine Valley Lodge create a sense of community in which lasting friendships are made.
